Currently I work full-time as the Manager of Communications and Engagement for the city of Rochester, Minnesota.

With my M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications, I enjoy teaching college courses, am a Certified Adobe Expert, an Adobe Education Leader, and am an online instructor on Skillshare. I use my technical communication background to help train and educate on different technology including educational, creative, and marketing tools.

Higher Education

One opportunity in my career that I’ve treasured has been my chance to teach in the University environment. When I started working on my Master’s from Eastern Michigan University, I was given the chance to teach at Gogebic Community College. After teaching at GCC, I was given the opportunity to design a course to teach at Finlandia University, which became CPT202 – Digital Media for Business. With the closure of Finlandia University, I am lucky enough to once again be teaching remotely at the University of Wisconsin Stout and have loved featuring a curriculum that introduces business students to a variety of tools that will help them as they complete their degree and beyond.

Creative Technology & Adobe

During my undergrad, I was able to dive into something called Photoshop. From that point on, I was hooked and knew I wanted to re-focus my education towards Adobe Creative Cloud. With my desire to learn and stay on top of design trends, I began to set goals that moved me through the Adobe ecosystem. In 2020, I was able to help the University of Michigan become an Adobe Creative Campus, the top mark from Adobe in Higher Education. I continue to operate as an Adobe Education Leader, supporting their Adobe Education program today.

Teaching & Learning

One of my passions comes from helping individuals understand technology. This skill has not only helped me change the way courses have been taught in higher education, but allowed me to take a functional hobby and present it in different ways. One of these ways is on YouTube.Another method is through the Skillshare platform. If you have a topic you would like me to cover in the future, feel free to reach out and send your request through the contact form.
